As a part of Thara Memory's Pacific Crest Jazz Orchestra, Finn has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Oregon Blues Festival and the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival and opened for Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. He participated in multiple groups with the Alan Jones Academy of Music (AJAM), which performed at venues all over Portland and opened for Benny Green. The Innovation Project, a trio with Laz Glickman and Domo Branch, gave them an opportunity to showcase original music and arrangements around town and be an opening act for the Ravi Coltrane Quartet and Taylor Eigsti.

After studying at Northwestern University under the tutelage of Victor Goines and Carlos Henriquez, Finn moved to Los Angeles to complete his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California. There, he continued to hone his skills as a jazz musician with Darek Oles, Alan Pasqua, Edwin Livingston, and Alphonso Johnson. USC also allowed him to dive into the world of mixing and production with Jae Deal and Brian Malouf. During his time as an undergraduate, he has played upright bass at gigs on and off campus such as the Reunion Jazz Festival. He also has been active playing electric bass for various types of acts in Los Angeles. These skills have allowed him to collaborate with other musicians and producers from Chicago, Portland, and Los Angeles.

Since graduating in December 2022, Finn has played with the Brown Branch Big Band in Portland and Sofija at the Peppermint Club in LA.
